Ram’s Random Thoughts – ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ವಿಷಯ

I feel this is one of the saddest day in the history of Indian Cricket.  A rock solid batsman, with so many records in his name has announced his retirement today from International Cricket.

Rahul Dravid a complete team man and a gentleman to the core has redefined the art of defence.  He is an unsung hero and never vied for glory and recognition.  A lot of his fans like me do agree that he was not recognized properly by BCCI.  He was not a flamboyant person unlike other cricketers.

He led superbly for series wins in West Indies and England. He is the first batsman to score a century in all test playing countires, a first non-wicketkeeper to hold more than 200 catches. At the age of 38 he scored 1000 runs in a calendar year in 2011.

Rahul (Wall) Dravid.  You are a cut above the rest.  Take a bow.  It is very difficutlt to think Indian Cricket without you. Wish you all the best for your future whatever you do.
